Nunawading Cricket Club – Junior Weekly Update

Hi everyone

Well, there is only one way to say it – the weather looks terrible for cricket. The Association is reviewing conditions this morning and will advise clubs status later today. Your Coaches and Team Managers will advise if cricket is cancelled. Please keep an eye out on your email.

Bunnings BBQ – Saturday 16 November
Our Bunnings BBQ date is next Saturday (16 November). We are looking for 3-4 families to do the 12.00pm-2.00pm shift and the 2.00pm – 4.00pm shift. If you can assist (even for just an hour) – please let me know.

Big Bash League Memberships
2 Game BBL Memberships (for either the Stars or Renegades that you you chose on registration) have arrived. I am in the process of passing them to your coaches, who will hand them out. Any issues at all, please let me know. Please note, Junior Blasters do not receive the Memberships, however I understand that BBL tickets and offers were in your Junior Blaster Kits.

Curry Night
The Nunawading Cricket Clubs ‘world famous’ Curry Night will be on Friday 22 November. This is always a great community night at Nunawading after matches, training and Junior Blasters.

The way it works is that we ask families to make a curry/rice/noodle dish and bring them along to the club for our Post Match gathering. All the curries and rice dishes are then available for everyone to try. If you cook/donate a curry, there is no charge. If not, we simply ask for $5 a plate. We also have sausage sizzle for those who may not be so keen on a spicy meal. If you can cook/donate a curry, please let me know. The night is a great success with your help.

We are still looking for some more offers of curries (I currently have five offers – and we normally have well in excess of 15-20)!!

E-Scoring Session
Many thanks to Glen (Max) Mackie for running the e-scoring session on Wednesday. It was great to see the 10-12 parents attend. This new way of scoring is easier than the traditional book, and as we are always wanting to ensure all families take their turn at scoring, it is important that we all try and learn the new system. Please, if it is not your turn to score, spend 15-30 minutes looking over the shoulder of the scorer, to familiarise yourself!!

I will be sending out more details on scoring shortly.
