Hi everyone – With the Melbourne Cup weekend ahead of us – there is no Junior cricket this weekend. For all Teams (excluding Junior Blasters) – your Coach/Team Manager will maintain contact with you in regards to training.
The Nunawading Cricket Clubs ‘world famous’ Curry Night will be on Friday 22 November. This is always a great community night at Nunawading after matches, training and Junior Blasters.
The way it works is that we ask families to make a curry/rice/noodle dish and bring them along to the club for our Post Match gathering. All the curries and rice dishes are then available for everyone to try. If you cook/donate a curry, there is no charge. If not, we simply ask for $5 a plate. We also have sausage sizzle for those who may not be so keen on a spicy meal. If you can cook/donate a curry, please let me know. The night is a great success with your help.
We will again be holding Team Photos this season. Details are as follows:
Friday 22 November – (Before matches and Junior Blasters at Mahoneys Reserve)
Under 14 4.35pm – 4.45pm
Under 18 4.45pm – 4.55pm
Junior Blasters 6.10pm – 6.20pm
Sunday 24 November – (at Mahoneys Reserve)
Super 7s 3.45pm – 4.00pm (Both Teams)
Fast 9s 4.00pm – 4.10pm
Under 12 4.10pm – 4.25pm (Both Teams)
Under 16s 4.35pm – 4.45pm
Whilst there is no compulsion to purchase photos, it is obviously great for the Club to have as many players in the photos – so please ensure you come along. I think you will all agree that previous years photos look great on the Club Room walls.
Many thanks to Jean-Paul Lefebure for once again organising this – who works with Jo Fairy from ‘Field of View’ – to make this possible.
As mentioned previously – this season, the Association has changed the scoring system. The Home team is now required to score OnLine – with the away team to score via the traditional scorebook.
As is the case at Nunawading – we look for all families to be involved – and as such, next Wednesday night at 6.00pm, we are running an awareness session on scoring. This is at the same time that our Fast 9s and U12s train. Please come into our club rooms to see how it is done and what is involved. In all seriousness, if you use the many apps that a smart phone has – this is just as straight forward.
In the interim – if you want to familiarise yourself with the scoring system – please download the ‘MyCricket Live Scoring’ where you can score via a demo match.
Bunnings BBQ – Saturday 16 November
Our Bunnings BBQ date is getting closer – however we are in DESPERATE NEED of volunteers. Please, as one of our Junior Families, can you please put your name down on the roster if you are free!!
Finally – whilst I have not studied the field – I reckon Cross Counter will go Back to Back in the Cup on Tuesday!!!
