We are now only a month away from when all matches and ‘Junior Blasters’ commence (further details below). It is therefore crucial that you please register as soon as you can (thanks to the many families who already have). This will no doubt be the biggest Junior season at Nuna we have ever had. To register either complete the attached Registration form, or you can do so via the following link (for all forms of cricket at Nunawading).
Congratulations Vaishnavi Munukutla
Vaishnavi Munukutla will be known to many of you. Vaishnavi has played her junior cricket at Nunawading – in both the Friday night teams and Girls teams over the last five years. Last season, Vaishnavi was a dual premiership player in both our U12 Friday Team and Girls team. Vaishnavi was also a joint winner of the Dave Cowell Award.
It therefore gives me great pleasure to announce that Vaishnavi Munukutla has been selected in the ‘School Sport Victoria Team Vic 12years and Under’, Cricket State Team – competing in the School Sport Australia Championships. This will be held in Bunbury,Western Australia from 12 December – 19 December).
It has been a great performance by Vaishnavi following a selection process that began in July to make the final team of 13. The students participated in a series of trial sessions and games to be selected to represent the School Sport Victoria State Team.
Whilst at Nunawading we always focus on enjoyment and continual development of our cricketers – it is always great to celebrate individual success of this nature. Vaishnavi – Congratulations – we look forward to hearing how you go – and wish you all the best.
Woolworths Junior Blasters
Previously called Milo in2Cricket, Woolworths Junior Blasters at Nunawading looks like again being a very enjoyable program again this season. Participants who have registered already, should start receiving their kits (mailed directly to you) towards the end of September. This will include your personally named shirt. If you have not yet registered, please do so, so that you can receive your pack in time for the first session. (Please note, your bat will be sent to the club for collection).
Also, if your child did Milo last year, however is looking for the next part of the cricket pathway, please contact me or come along to Sunday training, or the 8-12 year old training on a Wednesday (see below). We have already had a number of families do so – and it is obvious they are clearly ready for Super 7s cricket.
