As cricket season gets a little closer, here is just a quick update:
Bunnings Sausage Sizzle – Nunawading Cricket Club – Saturday 23 July
Tomorrow, Nunawading Cricket Club are running the sausage sizzle at the Nunawading Bunnings (250 Whitehorse Rd, Nunawading) from 8am until 5pm. I did not seek volunteers from our Junior families on this occasion, as our seniors have taken the lead (however this still includes a number of Junior Families). Thank you to Jean-Paul Lefebure, Daniel Smith, Glenn Mackie, Jayden West, Patrick West, Malcolm West, Scott O’Neill, Andrew Lord, Tim Day Lachlan Day, Patrick Mitchell & Buddy Mendis, who have given up their time this Saturday to make this happen. Special thanks to Greg Clark, who has not only given up his whole Saturday, but has also managed the set up process. It would be great to see as many junior families there as possible to support the club. Please come along, say hi and buy a couple of sausages. Every little bit helps, as this is a great fundraiser for the club. We look forward to seeing you all there this Saturday.
Junior Handbook 2016/2017
As mentioned last month, planning is well underway for a great season ahead. We expect to have the Junior Handbook sent out next week, which will have all the information for the season ahead. If you know of any friends or relatives who are looking for a game of cricket, please have them contact me! We are always looking to welcome new families and players (boys and girls) to our great club. This season we will have an increased focus on training for ALL of our teams. This will see specialised coaching available. These details are being finalised, however we are hoping your children will benefit from an even more personalised training session.
Once again, if you are in a position to help out further, in any way at the club (or even if you would like to, however are not sure how), please let me know!!
We will be looking to run Sunday morning training, likely to commence 21 August (weather permitting). Stay tuned for more details on training dates and times. If your child played Milo last season, however you think they may be ready for U10 cricket this season (even if they are only aged 7 or 8), please feel free to contact me to discuss. Our pre-season is a great opportunity to young children adjusted to U10 cricket.
