This Friday will see the end of the season for our Milo Program, U10s, U12s and most likely U14s. Also, Wednesday night was the final match for our Girls team (who won again – had it not been for some ‘scoresheet issues’ I think the Girls would have been playing in a Grand Final next week). I hope everyone has enjoyed the season on the field, however the good news is, there is still things happening at Nunawading.
U16 Boys – Semi Final
Our U16 Boys played the first day of their Semi-final last Friday. Nunawading finished our 44 overs at 2/232. This is a strong score. Two fantastic batting performances were the corner stone of this. Ethan Walker made 102 Retired Not Out and Harrison Dimopoulos was 84 not out. Whilst these are exceptional performances (well done again boys) and the team is in a strong position, their opponent Park Orchards will be trying everything to chase down these runs this Friday. Once again, I know it will be hard for other junior families to come and watch at East Burwood Oval (due to their own cricket), however please come back to the clubrooms afterwards, so that we can all hear how the U16 boys have gone. We will have ‘burgers with the lot’ and sausages! With any luck, we may have the opportunity to be playing in a Grand Final in just over a weeks time. (NB Our U10 Purple team will be playing on the other East Burwood oval whilst the U16s are playing)!!
As mentioned last week, the club is in a strong position and looks to have all 6 teams playing in finals. Next week I will let everyone know where our senior teams are playing. It would be great if families are able to support our senior teams throughout the finals campaigns.
Thanks to everyone for their participation in the photos. The night went really well. Milo photos are scheduled on Friday at 6.30pm (please all Milo Participants, please be there at 6.30pm in your milo Clothes). Once again, special thanks to Jean-Paul Lefebure for organising all this so successfully.
Junior Presentation night
To celebrate the end of the season, a reminder that our Junior Presentation Night will be held on Friday 18 March, commencing at 5.00pm. It will be great to have as many people there as possible to celebrate the end of the season, and the performances of our children.
