Nunawading Cricket Club – Weekly Junior Update

Hi everyone

Well after another wash out last week, tomorrow night looks perfect for cricket!!  It was still great to see so many people return to the club rooms after games were cancelled, despite the weather. A big thank you to the U16 boys (Dave Cowell Jnr, Pat West, Jayden West and Cameron Clark – to name a few) who helped prepare some food in the club rooms. Thanks boys!! Please come back to the club rooms this Friday night after our matches. We will not only have a feed and drink available, we also have a raffle with some great prizes!!

New players at Nunawading

It is also great to have Aidan Siebel (U10 – and son of Nunawading senior player ‘Blewey’) and Erin Woodford (Girls Team) join Nunawading over the Christmas break. We hope you enjoy your time at Nunawading.

Toyota Raffle tickets

Please remember those who took Toyota Good for Cricket raffle tickets, to please return them tomorrow night (if you have not already done so). Additionally, we will be selling individual tickets tomorrow night ($5 each). Remember, all proceeds are returned to the club!!

Team Update – U14s

Our U14 squad has had a great learning season this year – which has seen continued development. Coaches (Dave, Ben and Peter) are happy with the progress of the boys – and the enjoyment of their cricket is evident. Finals for the 14A team are still a chance (although last week’s wash out did not help), however the U14B team will miss out on finals this year. I won’t individually name players (as there are too many), however we now have a number of U14s playing senior cricket on a weekly basis (and they will play finals this year). Additionally, the boys have benefitted from some fantastic cricket coaching, leadership training and overall friendship building. Overall this has resulted in two teams who have united as one and continue to support each other on and off the field.
