Junior Weekly Update 25-1-16

Hi everyone, Rob is away holidaying at the moment so just a few reminders so everything is running smooth when he comes back on Wednesday.

At home this week on Wednesday 27th January we have the Under 14A’s playing against Manningham on the top oval from 5 – 7.30ish pm. So once we have all finished training hopefully you can stay around to support them.

We will have a sausage sizzle being cooked by the Under 14A’s (Snags $1.50 each).

Training for the Under 10s, 12s, 14B’s and Girls team will be on the bottom oval this oval will be divided up for each coach to use for fielding practice (as the nets are not available with the game on).

Matches for U10, U12 and U14B’s resume on Friday 29 January
· Milo in2Cricket starts on Friday 29 January at 6.30pm
· Girls’ team first match back is on Wednesday 3 February

Derek Clark (Apparel Manager) has advised he has received additional stock over the break, which should cover all outstanding orders and/or any new apparel you may wish to purchase. If anyone is still awaiting apparel, please email Derek on derekc to arrange collection etc

Toyota Good For Cricket Raffle
Thanks to all those families who took books of tickets to sell over the Christmas break. This is the only fundraising event the club is running this year, and all proceeds (yes every dollar of every ticket sold) comes back to the club. If you have sold all the tickets, please see me at training etc, and I will happily collect from you. Additionally, I still have some books left. If you would like to sell a book please let me know. Alternatively, we will be set up to sell individual tickets on Friday 29 January in the club rooms after the cricket.

Father (or special friend) /Son Game vs Blackburn

In conjunction with the Blackburn Cricket Club, we are running a Father/Son cricket day at Blackburn on Sunday Feb 14 for the Paul Callanan Cup. Paul is a Life Member at Blackburn and a club stalwart at Nunawading. The day is a family day where we will field two teams, one will be Under 16s/older boys, the other will be Under 14s/younger children. The games will start at 11 am, break for a BBQ lunch around 1.30 then resume and complete by 5 pm. This is a fun day, not a competitive one 🙂 If you have another combination (eg special friend, brother, mother etc) you are also welcome. Fathers/Sons will be encouraged to bat and/or bowl together. There is no cost and drinks will be available at Blackburn all afternoon. Can you please advise David Cowell at dgcowell if you would like to play.
