Nunawading Cricket Club – Update and Welcome!!!!!!!

Hi everyone!!

It is great that the season is now well underway!! All of our teams are now playing and our Milo Program is also up and running. A very big welcome to all new families to the club. For those who don’t know me, I am the Junior Manager at Nunawading. I have been at the club for what is now my sixth season (as a parent), and over the last few years in a more formal manner. The Club and I hope this season will bring you and your children much enjoyment – while ensuring you have the opportunity to enjoy this great game of cricket. If at any time you have any queries or concerns, please feel free to let me know (I am generally at the club on a Wednesday and Friday night – however also very happy to be called or emailed).

Without wanting to make this note too long, I thought I would also update everyone (and also advise for the first time our new Milo families) a few things happening at the club:

Fixture for U14, U12 and U10

All Fixtures for U14, U12 and U10 are now on the My Cricket website. Please however ensure you do check weekly with your Team Manager, as I have been advised by the Association that they are still subject to change. U10 families, as per my email during the week to yourselves, I will be advising you of your fixtures for the whole season in the coming days.

It is great that we will have 3 games and Milo at home each week this season.

Milo in2Cricket

The Milo Program continues on Friday Night at 6.30pm. All of your cricket kits have been ordered, and we are hopeful they will arrive by Friday Night. The Milo program is very important to the club, as your young children are the future of the club. We will endeavor to ensure the Program meets all your expectations. If you want to help Paul on the night in assisting with running the program, please let Paul know.

The more assistance Paul has, the better the program runs!!

Friday Nights at Nuna

After our Friday Night matches and Milo program are finished each week, we always like to have the BBQ fired up and enjoy the chance to have a cold drink in our club rooms. We use this as an opportunity to have match reports from coaches and Milo Co-ordinator, together with achievement awards to players. I encourage everyone to come up stairs and enjoy this (including our U14, U12 and U10 teams who are playing away). match reports are generally between 8.00pm – 8.15pm. We do share the duties accross all teams, when it comes to cooking the BBQ and serving the food. Your team Manager will advise you when your team is ‘on duty’. This will only occur once or twice a season, however your assistance with helping on these nights is what makes this club great. We also have special themed nights to mix things up (ie Curry Night, Christmas – and possibly something around Halloween next Friday night – watch this space)!!

Communication

The club uses email as its main communication, so please keep an eye on your email in regards to what is happening – and if training or matches are cancelled. On saying that, we also use the ‘Team App’ smart phone application. Please feel free to subscribe to this app (iPhone or Android), and you will be able to obtain updates on the go! Any queries with how to use it, please let me know!!

Melbourne Stars membership

Melbourne Stars are offering great value memberships this year, which include $10 ‘two game memberships children’. If you are interested, in a membership, please let me know. I will help process the membership with the Stars. The club does not make any money out of this (memberships are available to the general public), however as we have signed up to being a ‘Stars Club’ we do obtain the chance to win prizes, based on how many Nuna memberships we process. I will be sending the first lot of memberships applications off in the coming days, so if you would like a membership (or have already advised me your child would), please let me know/give me you $10 and I will get that underway. If you decide later to be a member, please let me know!!

Rebel Sports

Nunawading Cricket Club is also signed up with the Rebel Sports loyalty program. Each family who signs up to Rebels’ loyalty program (which is free), and links it to Nunawading Cricket Club – will receive benefits and discounts from Rebel (including 20% off full priced cricket gear in October). Additionally, the club then received 5% credit back on all purchases – which the Club can use to purchase new equipment. This offer is year round – regardless of what you buy. It’s sort of a win/win!!

See you all at cricket!!
