Nuna Juniors this Friday, all teams playing

Hi Everyone,

It was great last night to see the club’s U14, U12 and Anklybytrs (U10) all train so well. The enthusiasm from the children was great. A big thanks to all coaches and parents who helped out.

This Friday sees the start of the whole Junior Program. Last Friday night, our U14s had a strong win. Our U12B team played very well with a lot of the boys playing together for the first time. Even though they were unable to get the win, they took more wickets than their opposition. The U12C team unfortunately were subject to a last minute fixture change, which resulted in them having a bye.

This Friday (18 October), our teams are as follows:

MILOin2Cricket
Our Milo Program also commences this week, with Registration starting at 6.00pm at Mahoney’s Reserve on Bob Saker Oval. It will be great to see all the Milo children and families return from last year.

Please also note:

  • Now that the season has started in full, I will be organising a roster for our post game activities. Each team will be ‘on duty’ for 2-3 occasions over the season. As I have not organised the roster as yet (as fixtures are still being finalised), I am asking the U12B team to be on duty this week. I will be in touch with Team Manager(s) later today. All families (including teams playing away) are welcome and encouraged to come up to the club rooms after their games for our post match summaries and awards, a bite to eat and a cold drink,
  • Anklybytrs (U10) – thanks to those last night who said they will be able to assist with helping run the games. We have been lucky enough to have Dave Cowell (Club President) and Ken Hanna (Senior Assistant Coach and Junior Coaching Coordinator) to start running the U10 teams this week. Could I please ask all parents from U10 to help Dave and Ken (scoring, helping the players warm up, pad up etc) – and also observe how the game is ‘managed’. Dave and ken will not be able to be at tall he U10 games each week, however this will be a great way to commence the U10 season. Could all families please keep an eye on their emails, as there still is a minor chance that the Association may change the fixture.
  • Home teams must provide drinks for the away teams. For those playing at home, there is drink (cordial and drink containers upstairs in the kitchen). Please feel free to utilise this and ensure it is available for players from both teams. You may want to bring this to the grounds – especially the team playing on the bottom oval. With regards to food, the Association has now stated that home teams are not to cater for the opposition, so could all teams (home and away) please just cater for yourselves with regards to food!!

Any queries, please let me know.

Thanks
