Remember the Pirates Christmas Party on Friday December 16. If your team is playing away that week please make your best effort to get back to the club to keep this great tradition going. Please see the attached flyer for details and remember to RSVP to Luisa Mackie.
Also remember if you’re bringing along a sibling to ensure there is a “Santa” present for them as well.
Thanks to all who enjoyed the lovely weather (for a change) and brought along special guests to watch the kids play and enjoy a great BBQ cooked by senior club President Greg Clarke and his son senior player and junior club graduate Mitch. A great night and many thanks to all parents who contributed and to Luisa for her outstanding organisational skills and Danille Keele for her great assistance as well. Great work guys and greatly appreciated.
Caps & Shirts
If you do not have one or you need to replace your child’s junior club playing shirt I have a limited supply with me which are for sale at the enormous price of $15.00 (cash or EFTPOS over the bar). I will have them with me at whatever Friday night game I am at, then back at the club afterwards as well as at training each Wednesday.
Given our first year players free registration policy and our low cost registration fees, it is my preference that the players wear the Pirates shirt and at $15.00 it is probably more reasonably priced than anything you will pick up at Rebel Sport anyway.
Caps are free and will be presented to new players upon their first game. Any replacements requests should be for caps which are aged and discoloured or lost. Please place your child’s name inside their cap as we do not have many left. Caps are compulsory during fielding.
A great win for our combined team with Jack Peters continuing his Under 12s form to take 2/2 which has seen this team really gel and put some good wins on the board. Keep it up guys. We look forward to fielding an under 14s team in our own right (preferably Friday night) next season.
The Under 12s had their first win in 12Bs in a game played in great spirits between both teams. Some great bowling from Jack Peters and batting from Josh Richardson and Dave Cowell with a ripper catch by Riley Jones to end the game.
Ankylbyters – Buccaneers
I saw some great batting at times especially from Matthew Nash and Jacob Mitchell. The boys were giving it all in the field and having a ball which is the main thing. Great to see players like Reuben who really enjoys his game and improves each week. This team is really well coached by Rob who also has great support from the parents. Thanks guys.
Ankylbyters – Blackbeards
The bottom oval was like carpet and the lads relished getting a game in rather than having a bye. Thanks to Blackburn North for playing this game. Jacob Keele and Finn Lee did well again as did Hudson Williams who improves each week. I also witnessed a 43 run partnership between "Suds" and Jayden. Ethan batted and fielded bravely with an injured ankle so a big thanks to him for his efforts.
The Milo kids were full on yet again having a ball. I got a lot of great action shots of the kids working Maxie and Cowelly really hard.
If you have taken any photos of junior club action please e-mail them to Dave Cowell at dgcowell and he will load them on the junior club web site. I took several hundred photos on Dave Cowell’s camera on Friday so when he returns he will post some on the web site.

Dates to Remember
Friday 16 December – Junior Club Christmas Party- See attached flyer.
Coaching tip of the week – Remember to back up when at the non-strikers end and always run the first run hard which can create the opportunity for a second run.
Parents tip of the week – If you are not planning to stay at either training or games have in place arrangements should you need to be contacted for any reason.
How can you help the club? Volunteer to help out with scoring. It’s not too difficult and is a great way to remain involved with the game.
